I generally don’t write about misery here, which is probably why you all think I’m Little Mary Sunshine, but I’ve actually been kind of in and out of depression for the last several days. And I just needed highway music really badly. The kind of stuff I’d listen to while driving on empty streets in the middle of the night, wind in my hair. (If I drove and if we lived in a country that made it even remotely okay to own a convertible.) Stuff that just makes me feel alive.
This one’s a quickie. I’ve got plebeian taste in music (trust me, I’m overrated), so I’m guessing you might already have most (if not all) of these on your hard drives, but in case you don’t:
And In That Moment We Were
for your escapism
- “Dakota,” Stereophonics
- “Wake Up,” Arcade Fire
- “When You Were Young,” The Killers
- “Teen Angst,” M83
- “23,” Jimmy Eat World
- “Ceremony,” New Order
- “So Here We Are,” Bloc Party
I blow you kisses. Good night. (Good morning.)
That 23 song from Jimmy Eat World. That 7-minute song…*sigh* At one point in my life, there used to be a music video in my head where I played the girl who had her heart broken by some guy and burned all the things we used to own together not knowing that the guy from the apartment next door had a secret crush on me and after a few attempts, saves me from my depression where I learned to be an open soul once more and forgot that I felt miserable.
